The pilot episode of AntiKaiser’s GONE: The Series has received its first official review. On Wednesday, March 16th, Indie Intertube, a weekly podcast dedicated to independent internet television and original web content, reviewed all thirteen pilots participating in the Celebrate the Web “Raising the Bar” festival. The podcast, which runs for two hours every week at 4pm PST, began discussing GONE at the 31-minute mark.

“Let’s pick one of the ones we really liked. Let’s go with GONE: The Series.”

The review of GONE lasted a couple of minutes with all positive feedback. An excerpt of the broadcast is embedded below.

Several of the comments complimented the acting, especially that of lead Frank Krueger (the role of Dean Jeffries), the music, and the setup, alongside excitement for seeing “Indie Intertube’s most lovable geek”, Maxwell Glick. The following quote, however, is likely the most important feedback:

“It was very believable and I was completely invested when it was over. I want episode 2. We liked it a lot. I would say that GONE: The Series is one of our favorites and, most definitely, that show should be made—even if it doesn’t win this contest. I will be really pissed if we don’t find out what the hell happened.”

Indie Intertube also mentioned that, in their opinion, GONE did the best job of incorporating the William Gibson quote, “Time moves in one direction, memory in another.” To listen to the review, please find an embedded excerpt above, or you can listen to the entire episode at BlogTalkRadio.com

The pilot can be viewed at http://gone.blip.tv and interested parties can become a fan of the series on Facebook at http://facebook.com/GONEtheSeries

The story follows Dean Jeffries (Frank Krueger) as he searches for his wife, Laurie (Julia Denton), who has disappeared and told him not to follow. It also stars Craig Braun as Lynch, Maxwell Glick as Phil, and Mark Berry and Dailyn Matthews as Daley and Gless. For more information, please read the one-sheet.

This episode was made as part of the Celebrate the Web “Raising the Bar” festival, in which we had one week to write, shoot, edit, and deliver a 5-minute WebTV pilot. We are now competing against 12 other teams for the winning spot. The additional exposure could help us gain a sponsor, which would mean more episodes could be produced.

If you would like to help support the pilot by voting, you may do so once per day through March 26th at http://www.celebratetheweb.com

The winner will be announced during a screening at the ACME Comedy Theater in Hollywood on March 29th. If you are interested in attending the screening with us, please let us know and we will relay the event details to you.

You can also become a fan of the show on Facebook by visiting http://facebook.com/GONEtheSeries and hitting the “Like” button.

As you know, we have a very successful track record with competitions and we feel confident that we can deliver the same results again, but we can’t do this without you. There are approximately $2,000 in production costs that we need help covering, which will go toward paying our cast and crew, buying storage media, feeding our volunteers, and more. On top of that, we have only two weeks in which to receive it!

In order to raise these funds, we have set up an IndieGoGo campaign with additional details and a pitch video from myself and Michael Brueggemeyer, who will be directing the pilot. We have developed a perks system to thank anyone who contributes. These perks range from signed cast photos to executive producer credits. You can even have a character named after you or receive a private Hollywood power lunch with celebrity-guest Doug Jones (Hellboy I/II, Pan’s Labyrinth).

If you are interested in helping us achieve yet another success, please visit http://indiegogo.com/webtvpilot and take a look at our support material. Thank you for your consideration and your contribution.

It has been brought to our attention that AntiKaiser alumni and friend, director Brad Bosley, is a top-5 finalist in this year’s Doritos® and Pepsi MAX® “Crash the Super Bowl” 2011 competition with his entry LOVE HURTS. Not only would we like to congratulate Brad on his continued success, but help promote his submission by asking others to watch and vote for his commercial.

Interested parties may vote once per day through January 31st and each ballot cast enters them into a sweepstakes to win Super Bowl tickets. Should LOVE HURTS be voted among the top two commercials, it will air during Super Bowl XLV on February 6th and be eligible to win up to $2 Million.

Brad directed “Bold Burglar”, one of three spec submissions produced by AntiKaiser and Chris Roberts Productions, under the direction of Resolve Entertainment, in the 2009 “Crash the Super Bowl” competition. The commercial may be seen below, on the AntiKaiser website, or on the AntiKaiser YouTube channel. Incidentally, this is not the first repeat presence in this competition’s finalist ring as the 2010 winning submission “Casket” had hired the same cinematographer, Brandon Lippard.

AntiKaiser released “Aaron Matthew Kaiser and the Ford Fiesta Movement, Chapter 2″ yesterday as it’s official application into the massive social media program of which it shares it’s name.

The first Fiesta Movement, designed to promote the new 2011 Ford Fiesta virally, selected 100 YouTube personalities—dubbed “Fiesta Agents”—and gave them their own Fiesta for six months. Each agent had six missions to accomplish and video blog about. The tagline was “100 Agents. 6 Months. 600 Missions.” According to Ford, the first movement was a major success.

“Fiesta Movement agents have traveled more than 1.4 million miles and have generated more than 6 million YouTube views, nearly 740,000 Flickr views and more than 3.7 million Twitter impressions.”

Since the first Fiesta Movement was such a success, Ford has unveiled “Chapter 2”, but with a slightly different twist. According to their website:

“In anticipation of the Fiesta’s US launch, for the next chapter of the Fiesta Movement we’re handing over creative direction for the all-new 2011 Ford Fiesta’s advertising and promotion to our fans. You’ll need a creative vision and passion for the Fiesta. We’ll provide the public spaces and help connect you to local creative talent. Together, we’ll bring your ideas to life.”

Based on his previous track record with the Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” Competition, AntiKaiser’s Aaron Matthew Kaiser decided to apply. He selected Lindsey Caldwell as his team partner and wove their resumes into a 7-minute narrative storyline that provides their background in an entertaining way. The film can be seen below or on the AntiKaiser YouTube channel.
